DIABETES MONITORING DEVICES

The Gmate® Glucometer is more than the usual glucometer. It integrates with modern Smartphones (Apple and Android) by connecting through the phones charge or phono ports. On connection, the device triggers the Diabetes Management App (DMA) which is downloaded for free from the Apple iStore or Google PlayStore. Software updates and functionality enhancements are also easily downloaded to the Diabetes Management App on your phone from the iStore or PlayStore. The Diabetes Management App allows the Smartphone to perform all the functions of a smart glucose meter by providing the user both verbal and animated step by step instructions of how to conduct the glucose blood test. This includes the insertion of a test strip into the device, followed by a drop of blood. The animated instructions appeal to the young and elderly through its intuitive instructions. Test results are displayed in the Smartphone’s display. The App will date and time stamp the results and the user can contextualise the reading by selecting the appropriate screen icons. (e.g. Before/after, meal/exercise etc.). The device stores up to 500 readings that may be digitally sent to caregivers, clinicians and The PharmaWorld’s Diabetes Management platform via sms, email or electronic app transfer. Parents can now monitor their children’s glucose levels in real time via the automatic email feature. The Diabetes Management App also displays a graphic trend of all previously stored results can be sent to the clinician/doctor via email.
